Publishing Your Site
Once you've customized your template, publishing it makes it live on the internet. Framer makes this incredibly simple — you can have a live site in under a minute.
Two Ways to Publish
1. Free Framer Subdomain
Every Framer project can be published for free on a yoursite.framer.website subdomain. This is perfect for testing or sharing a preview with a client.
2. Custom Domain (Paid)
If you want a professional URL like yourname.com, you'll need a Framer paid plan and a domain registered with a registrar like Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Google Domains.
Publishing to the Free Subdomain
Click the "Publish" button in the top right corner of Framer.
A panel will appear. Under "Framer Site", click the toggle to enable publishing.
Choose a subdomain name (e.g., "myportfolio" → myportfolio.framer.website).
Click "Publish". Your site goes live in seconds!
Click the link that appears to open your published site in a new tab.
💡 Tip: Every time you make changes and want them to go live, you need to click Publish again. Changes are NOT automatically published — this protects you from accidentally pushing unfinished work live.
⚠️ Note: The free plan shows a small "Made with Framer" badge on your published site. Upgrade to a paid plan to remove it.
